I was finally getting a good rhythm with pumping and having enough time to do other things when I got mastitis on April 11th. I went back for my first day of work and just felt horrible. I came home and took my temp and it was 102.5. Pretty high for someone that is normally around 97.7. I waiting about 2 hours on the hours to talk to a nurse about my symptoms and she said to go to the ER. So around 11pm at night I went over there and then waited another 2 hours before I was seen. I went to the back around 1am and then sat there another hour waiting for my IV antibiotics. Once that was in, I took a well deserved nap. The nurse had to jossle me awake! I learned a couple lessons. Just go to the ER if it's after hours if you have an unexplained fever. Don't wait to talk to a nurse. Don't be afraid to go to sleep if its past your bedtime. Try to see someone earlier in the day rather than at 2am.
One week has passed and I was put on another round of oral antibiotics. Hopefully, it will all go away soon!
