Living in the boonies

Living out here has its perks. Beautiful scenery, quiet mornings, afternoons and evenings...

EXCEPT when you are peacefully having a nice dinner with your husband, having wine for myself and a beer for him in the darkness of night and you hear "Hello?" I, of course hear it right away. My law enforcement husband thinks it was the cat. I'm asking "where's the gun." He proceeds to have a conversation through the door (in the middle of the night!) with this man. I'm in the bedroom frantically trying to get the gun out of the holster.

All was thankfully ok... he was a Swiss researcher needing a key to his temporary housing facility. Everything checked out ok. We called the appropriate people to verify. I sure do hope these people let us know when someone is coming by next time. We are going to request it.
